1. Tare

£££-£££

Nestled within the vibrant Cargo development in Wapping Wharf lies Tare. Offering an intimate dining experience that promises to delight the senses and elevate the palate.
At Tare, expect high-quality ingredients and wine, as well as creative and expert dishes. They also offer a selection of local beers, ciders and produce. Whether it's freshly caught seafood from the nearby coast or seasonal vegetables sourced from local farms, each dish at Tare Bistro is a celebration of quality, flavour, and ethical dining.
Although Tare is small, I can vouch for this bar as a place to visit in the summer for some relaxed dining.

Recommendations:

✨Sourdough, balsamic, oil
✨Cured Chalk Stream trout, celeriac remoulade, apple
✨Apple custard choux bun, almond, miso caramel
✨Boquerones

2. Le Vingoble

££-£££

Indulge in a wine paradise at Le Vingoble. As an award-winning wine merchant, lounge, and tasting venue, Le Vingoble is the place to go for quality food and wine.
This wine bar is a destination for exploration and indulgence, offering you a variety of wines for you to sample, starting at 25ml for a taster and up to 175ml for a full glass.

Recommendations:

I highly recommend pairing your wine with their cheeseboard. They offer some of the best cheese in the city, and what's more, you can buy any of the cheese you try at the bar 😋

3. Bravas

££-£££

Bravas is situated in Cotham, a very cute and cosy area in Clifton. The area boasts a range of quirky shops, speciality coffee, wine, fresh produce, art and so much more.

Bravas’ menu changes in line with whatever fresh produce they can source, but the quality of cooking never differs. Inspired by the vibrant tapas culture of Spain, Bravas brings fresh, unpretentious, and inexpensive flavours straight to your plate. It offers relaxed dining with helpful and friendly staff. But be sure to book in advance- this place gets super busy! This place gets a Fizzy rating from me ¡Salud! 🍷

Recommendations:

✨Pan con aioli (it was more like a garlicky, oily butter and was delicious! If you love garlic go for this!)
✨2 croqueta del día (chorizo croquettes)
✨2 salt-grilled wild red prawns, garlic and chilli (by far the tastiest and freshest tasting prawn I have ever had. This is a must-try!)
✨patatas bravas (so light and crispy with a fresh smoky tomato dip)
Special: botifarra with chimichurri (unique and rather spicy)

- this came in at £40 and was plenty of food for the two of us!

4. Ricks

£££

Perched along the scenic riverfront, Rick's at The Bristol emerges as an unparalleled experience that blends the essence of Bristol's vibrant culture with a touch of timeless elegance. If any of you know about the hotel chain Ikos, you will understand its sophisticated and luxurious interior design and exceptional service. Expect similar at Rick's.
As you step into Rick's, you leave the streets of Bristol and are transported to a world of glamour and relaxation.

The ambience at Rick's is further enhanced by the soulful melodies of jazz music, gently filling the air and setting the stage for an unforgettable evening. As you settle into your seat, the sound of ice clinking in a whiskey glass adds to the allure, inviting you to unwind and savour the moment.

They are open until late from Wednesday to Sunday, providing the perfect setting for a romantic date or a catch-up with friends over their exotic and signature cocktails.

✨Honey roast ham Somerset Brie, Dijon mustard

5. 22 Clifton

££-£££

In the heart of Clifton village emerges 22 Clifton. As a brand new privately owned Wine Bar and eventual Eatery, 22 Clifton exudes an air of sophistication and style while retaining the historic charm of its previous wine cellar occupancy. Tastefully decorated with contemporary flair, the space seamlessly blends sleek furnishings with the rustic charm of a stone flag floor. It's a setting that invites guests to unwind and indulge in the pleasures of fine wine and exquisite cuisine.
During the day, the atmosphere takes on a more leisurely pace, offering a quiet interlude for those seeking a relaxing escape.

Each table is equipped with tabletop 'beer mat' QR readers, allowing guests to peruse the menu and place orders with ease. Plus, with individual on-table sunken ice buckets, your beverages stay perfectly chilled without intruding on your dining experience.

The star of the show at 22 Clifton is, of course, the wine selection. With an impressive array of varietals from around the world, there's something to suit every palate. Cheers to indulgence and sophistication at 22 Clifton!
