A day to remember

A few days back, I took the train at 10.30 sharp for a painfully long bus journey to Glasgow. Using my trusty google maps, I met my wonderful friend, Asma, a talented artist I first encountered on Instagram. I was tingling with anticipation for our day ahead and of course, to meet her.
The second I saw her, the first thing I noticed was her smile that radiated of and warming eyes. I immediately felt at ease. We instantly got chatting and were on our way to check of our list of things to do.
We ate lunch at a Japanese restaurant called Nippon. Now i'm not a fan of Japanese food but this was exceptional, for brilliant prices too! I would definitely go back to Glasgow just for that. And being a massive foodie, I was hugely impressed.
Afterwards we set of to Buchanan street and wandered around before entering the Princess Square and getting a few photos by the grand, old staircase. A place I will certainly return to near Christmas.
We then strolled over to a building called 'The Lighthouse" which was surprisingly busy. However after a short wait, we headed up. After feeling rather out of breath and a tad dizzy, the spiralling staircase came to an end and I was greeted with a beautiful sight of the city. I didn't want to leave but I knew we had to get on with the plan.

We visited merchant city and took they subway, which may sound dull but was quite exciting for me. Finding a Starbucks was easy as they're almost on every corner in Glasgow. We settled at a high table and spent the good part of 2 hours painting and talking before hurrying over to the botanical gardens to capture some photos with the stunning surroundings.

By now it;s creeping up to 4.45 and we have to rush to dinner at 6 By Niko, which I HIGHLY recommend by the way. I loved every single dish on the menu which is almost never and I left the place on an absolute high, overwhelmed with the greatest feeling of satisfaction.

The walk over was gorgeous as well as we passed through a lovely park and the Glasgow University which was a beautiful sight. After realising I had 30 minutes to get my bus, we raced out of the restaurant at 7 and I just caught the bus at 7.25, running the last 5 minutes.
Collapsing into my seat, a wave of relief and peace washed over me. I made it, I'm safe, nothing's lost and I had a fantastic day comforted by the thought that I was on my way home to coy on the couch with my cat and lose myself in a book.
