These are the best, I mean the best chapatis I have made. I'll admit, it took a lot of trial and error and geez I made some pretty bad ones but finally, ah got it right.
These are healthy and soft and don't fall apart. They have elasticity to them and once pulled apart, are flaky as they naturally divide into two thing layers once cooked.

These are insanely easy and take only 30 minutes to make. ( unlike some that took hours ).
If you want something to accompany a curry, but not something as thick and heavy as naan bread, then these are they way to go...
Indian Chapatis
Serves: 4 small chapatis ( 2 servings )
Ingredients
125g wholemeal flour
1tbsp + small drizzle olive oil
60ml water
sprinkle salt
Method
- So as you can see there's not a lot of ingredients and also not a lot of steps so start by adding the flour to a bowl.

- Add in the oil and water then simply stir everything with a knife until it comes together to from a dough. Knead in the salt.
- Use your hands to gather it all together to form a most (not sticky but not dry ) dough.

( Yes, I know, I just realised that VERY annoying pice of dough on my hand ).
- Place it back in the bowl and let the dough sit for 15 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 4 balls ( about 50g each ). Flatten them slightly with your hands and lightly coat them in flour.

- Heat a medium sized frying pan over a medium-high heat.
- Roll the balls out until only a few mm thick.

- Add one of the chapatis into the pan. Let it cook on one side for about a minute, or until it puffs up. Flip it then cook for a further 10-15 seconds.

- Remove the chapati to a plate then repeat this process with the other chapatis.

-Serve with curry or raita or your favourite pickle. Hope you love these as much as I do!
